About MeHi, I'm J. P. Wickwire, a fledgling author struggling to get her literary genre-works published in a very non-literary genre-oriented world.
Have I been published? Not yet. One of my poems has been accepted into an upcoming anthology (not a scam, thank you!) but I am still waiting on my official contract. My short stories are too... erm, 19th century-esque for most magazines, it seems, even though they often deal with futuristic situations. So I can't tell if I'm 'vintage' or 'so-yesterday' :p After so many rejections, I console myself with the words of Tolkein, "Not all who wander are lost"... we just don't know exactly where we are :D I've written just about every form and fashion-- scripts, novels, short stories, poetry, lyrics, non-fiction; you name it-- and will continue to do so. Let's see... I "won" NaNoWriMo 2008, and look forward to doing it again. I'd also like to try the FAWM.org 50/90 songwriting challenge later on this year. When I'm not writing, I'm playing guitar/singing/trying to scrape up some cash doing solo gigs. Or I'm posting on my blog, http://www.reviewsfromthenotebok.blogspot.com. Which, I guess is technically writing... Anyway, I love to chat about all sorts of things (writing or music in particular... or Star Wars). Feel free to private message me (can you do that on this site?) or email me at [email protected]. |
