Susan Sloate

I'm the author of 16 young-adult books, both fiction and nonfiction, including five biographies (Abraham Lincoln, Amelia Earhart, Clara Barton, and two on Ray Charles). My 2006 biography, RAY CHARLES: FIND ANOTHER WAY!, won the silver medal in the 2007 Moonbeam Children's Awards for Multi-Cultural Non-Fiction.

I am probably best known for co-authoring (with Kevin Finn) the 2003 alternate history novel of the JFK assassination, FORWARD TO CAMELOT. CAMELOT was a #6 Amazon bestseller, took honors in 2 literary competitions and is currently under option to a Hollywood film production company.

My latest novel, STEALING FIRE, was a semi-finalist in the 2008 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest.

I have written and co-directed two stage plays, written an informational film for McGraw-Hill Films and done sportswriting and screenwriting (my movie script, WALTZING ON WALL STREET, was optioned by Paradigm Pictures).
