About Me
Hello. I'm Stryker.
I'm quite young and I write mostly for fun, slipping various writing projects into my schedule whenever I have free time. Genres I enjoy writing in include poetry, military fiction, science fiction, speculative fiction, and philosophy. I actually started writing because I thought it would be great to know that, at least idealistically, these writings will survive even after I pass away. Probably not going to happen, but it's comforting anyway.
I tend to jump from topic to topic every couple days, so a lot of my stories are left unfinished, only to be revisited later. I have an entire packet full of projects I either never finished or never started. Those two seem to be my two biggest problems when it comes to writing. Another side effect of my writing habits is that most of my stories tend to be very short. My one longer effort was "Möbius", and that was only about 8,000 words. I'm working on another novel right now, though, which I've already planned and outlined. It'll probably never get started, though... just watch.
My philosophy on reviews is this: since many of you, like me, probably show your writing to your friends before you post it online, you've already gotten your fair share of feedback. However, the feedback I get from friends tends to fall into two categories: either 1) "I don't get it." or 2) "Oh my God you're such a good writer!" In the first case, I'm not sure I can help you. But in the second case, yeah, you've gotten plenty of praise already. I don't know about you, but I joined WritersCafe to give and receive constructive feedback on my writing - in other words, criticism. As a result, my reviews tend to focus on what could be improved rather than what was done well. Please don't be offended; that's just the way I do it, and I hope you'll extend the same courtesy to me.
