A Poem by Stephan

About Me

I was trying to write an autobiography on this page. That wasn't easy.
So here I am today with my second attempt to create something entire but a brief introduction about me.

My name is Stephan Do (Stef-an(or Stef-en)-Doe). I am a conservative republican homophobe. Wow, that would be a very bad conversation starter, so just kidding. I was born in an island nation, Singapore.
I'm 18 and going on 27.
So as you probably already know, my identities are varied but are not limited.

Me as a photographer: my first photograph was of a grave stone, taken when I aged 10. Unfortunately, I have lost that sad image of my dead cat (which I will write about). About 2 years ago, I found photography very interesting and decided to explore it a little more. My first focus was on nature and landscape photography, which my friend and master, Azat, thought as what I'm really suck at. But I love the way nature connects and breathe through its surroundings. Its resilience and growth represents little or most of me. As my love and for photography grows, I begin to expand my vision towards different subjects and styles. Most of my work are accompanied with my emotions and stories captured in. Photography gives me a voice. A voice to communicate with others without the use of words (not that I hate using words, trust me, I love words). A also, a voice for my own self to listen to.

Me as a writer: I write. Period. I love writing. From my short stories to poetry, they, to me are treasures. Poems can be secrets; deep, dark, scandalous,...
My short stories are often created by thoughts, even little ones that lurk deep deep within. They become small voices, talking to me, motivate me, move me to write them down. And free them. Those often are the voices of those characters birthed by pen and ink. Both writing and photography give me a sense of self-guidance, and some inner peace.
This isn't bad for a 5-minute intro.
