I like to write what's in my heart. I call it Poetry. I'm influenced by Rod McKuen, Jill Scott, Teena Marie, Erykah Badu, Nikki Giovanni, Carly Simon, Martin Espada, Odgen Nash and Langston Hughes. I was nominated in 1990 for a Pushcart Prize, have been published along the small press plane many times and was awarded one-thousand dollars in 2002 as a 6th place Finalist via the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Artist Grant Awards. I 've written five volumes of poems and am self-published, and would like one day to be published on the national retail level. I'm a regular blue collar brotha from North Metro Boston and now live in Southern Maine.
