About MeI like to always make it clear that my origins belong and will always be in Brazil, but I was born in the heart of Los Angeles. I grew up going back and forth between the US and Brazil until I was eighteen. Last year, I moved to NYC and have been falling in love with New York and it's people.
Writing has always been a part of me, so to speak. I don't recall a moment where I had to think to myself, 'I'm going to write.' It always just happened. So I guess I could say I've been writing ever since I learned how to. I love writing. Anything. Poems, songs, journal entries, short stories, everything under the sun. My strongest tie is definitely to poetry, though. I feel that poetry is in a sense the base of all good writing and being a poet enhances any other style of writing. To be perfectly honest, my writing is just that: my writing. Each piece I create is a fragment of me and my experience. Explaining art taints it, so I leave it to the reader to find themselves in my art, in my words. I love to see people lost in emotion provoked by my words, or deeply affected by a shared thought of mine. Writing for me, is intimacy, it's release, it's truth, it's me. I aim to publish a poetry book by May of this year. I'm currently in the process of writing and illustrating a children's book which I also hope to publish by next summer. My long-term goals are to enrich myself and the world by the value of my words somewhere down the line. I want to make the world smile, weep, laugh, FEEL. |
