About MeI'm still gonna type stuff about me later....but i might as well post the description of my book. The characters are all furries, just to let you know. If you don't know what furry is, look it up on wikipedia.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The year is 1923: The start of it all- Prohibition was in full swing, and the competition for illegal alcohol amongst the dog mobs of New York City was anything but friendly. In this city, anything you say goes, as long as theres a gun involved. Speakeasies, Burlesque clubs, Gambling Halls, and Whorehouses are the base of operation for many of New Yorks gangsters. And on the citys smoggy, neon filled streets deals are made- and broken- with Tommy guns, car bombs, and sometimes with the car itself (a transportation vehicle and a gruesome weapon on its own part). In this world of violence and corruption the police are quickly flipped from the hunter to the hunted. Some lawmen are turning to the age old saying of If ya cant beat em, join em. ;while others are trying to get control of the city back into their own paws. As one of New Yorks five mob bosses- Baron Cappoletti finds himself either loved or hated by the dogs around him. Why do they love him? With the charm and dapper looks of the conman that he was, as well as being a natural lady-killer -who wouldnt? Its why they hate him is the real story. He is known for a short temper and a macabre way of dealing with his enemies- god forbid if youre caught on the wrong end of the gun. These traits come as no surprise to anyone whos had to deal with the late Cappoletti crime family. Its a name thats hated amongst the police and other criminals alike. This familys history dates back to Venice, Italy, and is one written in blood. Since its bloody fall in the generation before him, Baron is now left with nothing but his own wits to face ridicule and threats from both sides of the law. With the right connections, a small gang, and help from the gun moll Scarlett Malone- who at times is no less dangerous than him- he might have a few more cons up his sleeve Roxanna Turner is a pretty journalist for the New York Times, whose past intertwines with that of Baron. In 1921, working alongside a detective by the name of Timothy Shepherd, she testified against the mob boss- who was her boyfriend at the time- in court, in exchange for her murder charges to be dropped. Baron went to prison on three counts of murder. Now in 1923, with Baron somehow a free man, it has came back to bite her. She quickly turns to the detective as her only hope of protection- because Baron knew things. Bad things. But would he go as far as to use them to his advantage? When it comes to New York in the 1920s anything can happen Detective Timothy Shepherd is hell-bent on one thing, and one thing alone- killing Baron Cappoletti. The mobster has been out of jail for 6 months now, and Shepherd had tracked him to Chicago. After busting the mobsters bootlegging operation- and resisting the urge to shoot him on sight when he got released from a holding cell with only a warning, Shepherd followed Baron back to New York- the detectives obsession leading him to live in his car with no food or a change of clothes for those 2 days. A couple days after his return, an early morning call to his Manhattan apartment reveals Barons most recent crime- the horrific slaughtering of 7 members of a rival mob. Detective Shepherd is determined to watch him fry in the electric chair. And nothing will get in his way To some Rosie DeMore is a struggling Broadway actress, and to others this dame is a tramp whos loyalties shift at the drop of dime. Rosie likes to consider herself both. Men and women regard her as a ditzy w***e. But even w****s have secrets. And she isnt shy on letting something accidently spill to anyone who comes in need of her back-alley services. All it costs is 10 cents These four are just the beginning of a story told against a backdrop of jazz, cops and robbers, car chases, gunfights, frame-ups, and even a little bit of romance. Who says crime doesnt pay? Dogs With Pistols is rated Mature (sometimes Teen) for: -severe/graphic violence -language -some disturbing images -strong use of alcohol -some sexual content -suggestive themes (abuse, cold-blooded murder, rape (not highly descriptive), ect..) |
