About Me
For those of you who aren't aware, my name is pronounced Run. My biological parents are both Spanish. They died a week before my 7th birthday in a car accident. On my 7thbirthday I was sent to foster care. I was adopted by a Japanese couple when I was 8, I think, and lived in Dublin for a year and a half before we moved to Japan in Kobe prefecture. When I was 15 or 16 we moved to United States due to my dad's work. We've been living in Detroit ever since. Just kidding. We're not really in Detroit.
I appreciate fine arts and classic literature. I do dabble in painting and writing; however, I would never dare say that I am an artist and/or a writer. In spite of my intellectual prowess I, unfortunately, am not attending college.
I have my own structure that I follow when writing my poems. It usually consists of two couplets, one at the beginning and one at the end and a body of 4 stanzas. The rhyme scheme is STRICTLY as follows:
AA BCBB DEDD CECE FEFF GCGG AA
the meters I use are erratic but usually consistent in one piece.
It usually takes me a month or so to finish a poem. I would write the opening couplet one day and not work on the body for a couple of days or so. And when I do, it's usually one stanza at a time, taking a break every time I finish a stanza.
"If you feel deeply about something--I think the greatest poetry is revealing to the reader the beauty of something so simple you take it for granted. That I think is the job of a poet."
If I have to describe myself in three words it would be narcissistic, conceited, egoistic, indecisive.
Befriend me with caution: I bite.
