About Me

I live in Minnesota and have a beautiful horse, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. I am Native American from South Dakota and New York. I also love to listen to all kinds of music and I'm a big fan of Bollywood movies and songs. I like to put a sort of cinematic taste into my writing and I don't know what I'll do when I finish writing a book I've gotten attached to.

Hey, readers.
I have been thinking a lot lately. I know you don't hear much from me, but I would like to get something out in the open. I think it is pretty obvious, at least to me, that some of my works are inspired by Hindu and Indian fashion, culture, traits, etc. This comes primarily, and unfortunately, from Bollywood films. I say unfortunately because I feel that may be a fantasized version of the truth, but truly I cannot say that for sure, for I am not Hindu or Indian in any way! I have done very little research, but I also am not entirely trying to imitate Hindu traditions and traits, I feel inspired by what I see and want to make something beautiful and new. I encourage you with all my heart, you who know more than I, to speak up if I write something I should not. Do not feel uncomfortable, because if you feel something I said or wrote was wrong, than it needs to be discussed. I am Native American, so I understand appropriation can hurt, and I don't want to be the one causing it, but I may just be hypersensitive on this topic. This openness applies to all of my writing when it comes to cultural inspiration. If you belong to that culture or know more about that culture and feel the need to, speak up! On the same hand, I ask that you don't just yell at me to yell at me, and scold me for something that isn't wrong at all. I kinda know how that can feel too. I don't want to hide behind ignorance, so let me know how you feel!
Thank you for your time.
(P.S.
If it is possible, I will be changing my pen-name to Shay Lyn! :D)

I am sad and happy all at once. The final scene (unless I get another idea or realize I forgot something) has finally been written of the sequel to Gregor Basalt. Thank you to those who have been waiting in caves until my return (or just waiting in general). I still have to proofread it and stuff, and that may not pick up until summer, but it is written. AAAAAAHHHHH!

Sup peeps! I'll just start off with a happy new year to all who will receive it, and just happy life in general. My plan is to finish Gregor Basalt (which I am very near doing), proofread it and post it. Once that is up, I'm more free to work on my stories, and possibly work on Hawk. Maybe post some of that too. Also, I am loving S J. Mass right now! Till we read again!

Little update. My new book Crow, now called Hawk, has been going good. I finished Her Demon. a while ago, so if I can get my butt movin', I can get it posted soon. (No promises) Man I'm flaky.

Hey, just a little update! I'm still writing, but because of my long break, I'm having a bit of a creative block. I just started a new piece that's unlike anything I've done before. The title isn't set in stone, but I think it will be called Crow. It's about a young Lakota man on his journey to becoming a vigilante, feared by all who do wrong on his rez. Or something like that. I hope you are alright waiting, and Finding a Path (Gregor Basalt book 2) is written in advance, so there's some material for me to put out. Hopefully I'll get back in the groove come school time. Thanks for waiting, and while you do, maybe you could read and comment on my other works. Pilams!

Okay, readers, I have some ideas here. I don't think you'll like them, but we'll go for it anyway. In the first months of summer, my life is going to be pretty busy. If you read my blog, you know that my horse, Pal, needs to go into training, and that's what we're doing, me and him. So, because of that, I am going to get pretty loose on my updating once training starts or my life becomes to busy. I also have beading that I'm doing, which takes up my writing time. I'll be up again like normal eventually, but I might be pretty lazy about it in the near future, just because my life may be too busy. I'll still write and post when I can, and the stories won't end in the middle, don't worry, but I just wanted to put it out their that this might happen. Thank you for reading my stories and books, you're wonderful! (P.S. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it's worth a shot. :D)
