Hey there! I'm Kandi, or Riverdance (RD for short).

I'm not at the Cafe for competition, points, or badges. I'm only here to get my works known and to see how others view them. I'm fairly new to writing and most of my works aren't very wonderful...but I'm attempting to create at least one masterpiece!

Yes, yes, I know I have very little writing next to some of these writers out here. But I'm just an amateur writer who just enjoys writing for the fun of it. Quality---not quantity. Though I'm still working on the quality. ;D

My goal as a writer is to write poetry that captivates the reader just as much as any fictional story. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely adore fantasy/sci fi. But I just never have time to sit down and write that novel that's been haunting me these many years. Writing, for me, is also known as therapy.
So why pressure myself?
I type up what I feel is alright, and the others I leave to rot in my little journal under my bed.

I promise the fire within my soul will soon burn its brightest!

I hear a song and a story in everything around me. From the heavens to the ocean and even to the butterflies flying freely, a story originates within my head and with it a melody follows. The challenge is just expressing it in a way in words so it doesn't lose all of its personality. Expression on paper is as much of an art as dabbing a brush into a tray of paint...

Any comments are greatly appreciated! I'm not offended by a little constructive criticism, either, since I freely give it as well. After all, that's what the Cafe is for. I'm here to grow as a writer so be honest with your comments. If you don't like it, ok. The world would be a boring place without different opinions.

So I tend to ramble...What can I say? I'm a very opinionated person. It's what makes me, and probably every single one of you at the Cafe, a writer.
