Razan, many thanks for reviewing the story. You offered an insight that I felt was probably true but couldn't be sure about, being neither myself. That of the connections between Islam and Arabism. A good friend of mine is an Egyptian Arab, she told me about what her faith gives her, what she believes and her love of her faith.
