M.A.Rathore
The author,M.A.Rathore, hails from Hanumangarh , Rajasthan. Even as a young boy, Rathore was fascinated by painting , he never seemed to have enough of the saffron drenched colours that surrounded him. And still very young, he earned a living as a painter and artist , and pursued his formal studies too. His joining the college, proved to be the turning point in his life........most crucial and beneficial. There he met with divine teachers like the late Mr. Chanderbhan Singh Yadav, the former principal of the college, Pro.O.P.Jhinjha and the late Sri Sharmaji .They instilled in him, a love for verse, so much so he became an ardent lover of poetry and writing poems became his love and passion. While in college, he was the student editor of Vaichariki published yearly by the N.M.(PG) College,Hanumangarh.
Poetry, music and active participation in various religious plays performed at the village folks ,made him develop a flair and a taste for all art forms , especially , he excelled in writng poetry. After his studies, he was appointed English teacher.
His poetry is a reflection of his own life experiences, his struggles and hardships , while he worked hard to gain a place and a position in his life. His heart, for ever dwells in his poems and through his poetry he tried to reach out to the down trodden in life. He has no religious inclinations, his religion ,is that of love , compassion and service to humanity.
In each and every poem of his, we come across his beliefs, his ideals and his faith in humanity and humaneness.
Dr. Jernail Singh Anand introduced him to the world of modern literature through his best selling books viz. World Anthology of English Poetry and Whispering Winds. His poems were published in them.
The present collection of his poems entitled Pathless Woods is based on his philosophical concepts he imbibed , living in a country like India, the land of spiritual thoughts and devotional creed. Even after living in such a spiritual environment , he was rational and scientific in this outlook on life.
He writes in simple English , in an endearing manner, that caters to the simple and the ordinary. And we are reminded of Wordsworth, the poet , who had said...The language of the common man should be the language of the verse...
The book throws light on the mysterious as well as the realities that for ever become our lives. Each and every word in this collection of poetry , is fathomless in meaning, yet written in a language, simple enough for the ordinary mortal to understand. And the reader is really happy to be meandering through the world , the poet created, with his love of life and verses ----a world the readers feel privileged to be introduced, a world that truly fascinates them.
Drifting droplets over Christmas Tree
Spreading white foam of cracking snow,
Santa stood beside distributing to all free
Virgin Mary blessed divinity from above.

The cool breeze that blows so high
Though somewhat crispy and chill
Making December set strongest will
Celebrating Christmas coming nigh.
