Poetic Songstress

Hey, I'm Ashley, I'm 21 years old and my dream is to one day be a songwriter/lyricist. I would love to write songs for a living, and I've had a passion for writing for quite a few years now. I think I'm a little inexperienced as far as writing songs goes, but I am always looking for ways to better myself in my craft. I write poems as often as the creative urge hits me, and although I've never really shown them to anyone I think most of them are either good as is or have strong potential to be great writings. My poems are about anything I'm feeling or going through at the time, because that's my favorite way of getting my feelings out. I welcome any advice or tips on how to make my songwriting dream come true, as well as any constructive criticism on improving my poetry.

Currently, I'm working on posting poems from my pink and blue notebooks from 2006. If something is newer, I'll put that in the description. I always tend to put down the date, day, and time when I write a poem, so that's how I know when (exactly) they were written. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my writings!
