About Me
I've wanted to be a writer ever since I was five years old-- or I should say, I have been a writer since then. I learned to read and write before entering kindergarten, and in kindergarten started my own newspaper-- "The Noos for You"-- (my spelling wasn't so good back then). It was literally one page about silly, kid things, and I dropped it in all the mailboxes on my side of the road down to the corner, because I wasn't allowed to cross the street. That newspaper, if it can be called that, got me one of my best childhood friends and also instilled a lifelong passion for the written word.
At the age of thirteen, I started writing for a local newspaper-- a real one this time. By the time I graduated high school and went off to SUNY Purchase, I knew I was meant to be a writer. I applied to the Creative Writing Program at school. The day I got in was-- and still remains-- the happiest of my life. Even though I've been graduated from college for two years now and have yet to get anything published, in fact spending the past two years waitressing and bartending in a small town in Vermont, I have never regretted the decisions I made that brought me to where I am today. And where am I today? I just moved to Virginia to live with my brother and his wife, who are expecting their first child (my nephew!!) in August. I'm at a new beginning in my life-- again-- and I've never been more excited. Who knows what will happen next?
