... Embrace the Sky. + My goal is to express myself without getting discouraged by the disapproval of others. Of course, not everything goes smoothly for an artist. There are times when I grow distrustful of people or become extremely introspective and critical as I review my life. The only way to break out of those painful phases is to spend more time in nature, praying, and making art. Sometimes, on occasion, I want to spend three days and three nights on one work, without sleeping and hardly eating. I could do this because art is my life. This should happen from time to time. Art and pray all times. During some periods, art and God is the only thing that comes to mind. Everything else is checkers. Once my artistic senses are freed, I find inspiration everywhere, from sky to dirt from ceiling to floor. I'd like to take my materials everywhere I head. However, it is the Great Plains that holds a special place in my heart. I have visited and seen many beautiful locations, but for me, the Great Plains are always the most beautiful and enchanting. That and the ever-amazing rainforest. Outside. Once my body is filled with natural energy, I dive into art, pouring onto the paper the energy I absorbed from nature. When I am fully concentrated on my work and God, I don't notice the passage of time. And when I return to reality, I hear the wind and birds calling me again ... ~BEn Comments
