Emil Straton

My name is actually Alex, Emil is my link to the endless well of stories in my head, and has become a bit of a brother that I don't have. I love writing above all else and would definitely like to support myself as a writer.

I live in a small community, less than 3000 people, and it's hard to come by someone who isn't affected by the cursed certainty and slightly closed-mindedness that is such a community's key trait. It's a nice place none the less though.

My writing, as of yet, doesn't have a set genre, "dark fantasy" is the best I can use to describe it at times, but I'm open to any and all suggestions. I use symbolism as well as some obvious signs to show my place in the world and my views on the spiritual and ethical aspects of life. Of course foremost I try to make a good story to capture the reader.

I have no set faith, but I am spiritual in my own way. I practice yoga and meditation, mind journeys help in the creative and emotional aspects of my life, and steers the mind into itself. You'd be surprised what you can find there when you look.

Words are the nexus of life, everything said, written, communicated leaves an impression. The trick is to find the words that will linger longest, and leave a vivid picture in the mind long after the book is closed.
