Dark and cold;
What do they see,
What do they behold?
A camera lens,
A camera flash,
Or could it be
An atomic splash,

Drops of rain glitter through the air,
Their quick-silver clusters on the ground;
Each drop of rain that strikes a pool
Rings out a call to me.

The wind breathed a breathless sigh
And Silence shattered all the noise.
So vehement was that contingency
That I heard the sunlight

When I turned to look at her
My feelings ran wild;
Mixed emotions of envy and desire
Flooded deep within my heart.

A pink salamander crawled across the sky,
Devoured the waxing moon,
