About Me

Stained brown from regular outings, my feet sway back and forth to the rythm of the porch swing as I sit there comfortably, just reading. Out doors, away from the walls and shadows of inside the house, a breeze wafting my hair away from my hot and sticky face, a fly tickling my nose, old Mr. Gonzales on his daily walk with his halting gait and old dog, I feel a certain wildness that can't reach me as I sit at a desk. And while suburban California hardly fits anyones idea of a lush and primitive timberland (well, most people) just to have the sunlight falling on my face, freckling my nose, makes it easier to feel alive.
Brown eyes, flecked golden orange in the sun, glance up from the words I read upon the page. The book. The authors thoughts. The world I am immersed in.

Besides reading though, I'm a very active 18 year old who loves to surf or play basketball with my brother and his friends in the precious spare time I aquire. Jesus Christ and reading the Bible is really important to me. In the future I would like to go into journalism.

I am an essayist and writer.
Pleased to meet you :) All will know me as a Miss Charlie Twist.

P.S. And if you think my real name is Charlie Twist....
get real ;)

True. Hopefully the president will soon make some changes to our currnent gun control bills.

The shooter used a Walther .22-caliber semi-automatic and a 9 mm Glock -- both with the serial numbers filed off. Being an illegal alien he would either have to get it from a gun show or through a private seller.
It is sad what is going on in our country.

Thought I'd drop you a line!! Prom went well, after I made it out of the house! I got to take some pictures and hung out with my closer guy friends. The weather was so bad, I didn't think prom would happen! But as I sat there with my mom ooh-ing and aww-ing over my outfit and telling me to "chin up!" or "turn here!" for pictures, I got tense. I felt the longer we waited to leave, the more likely it was to get canceled!

In reference to the Gun Control essay, I am not so nave to believe that if more gun control was used that there would be no guns available to criminals. But when a criminal commits a crime in attempt to gain a weapon to commit another crime there is a greater chance of them being apprehended. Also while America is safe, it still needs a lot of work before we can be called perfect. At this very moment I am watching the news about how 22 people were killed in a shooting at Virginia Tech. I doubt very much that those shooters bought the weapons they used on some black market, but rather a gun show. I will research this theory before I publish it, but I am guessing it was relatively easy.

Actually, it was more or less a joke, I was having some fun with my writings. I was driving and just started thinking and laughing about it.
