with bright wings
I splash about,
scare the birds
I glow when
excited
seeing you I
am a tiny
sun
I ligh..

dark
coroner's sharp
angles
casket coming
lay
worms
weave the dirt
safeguard soft
children
we cover the
earthen blanket

Christmas lights
sequence sewing
in and out the
free air
a child giggling
|
|
tickling thought
directed mad mind
colorful whirlwind
and then silence
you watch the
fruits of your "labor"
buckle order
your teasing
disarray
|

we've become so
critical,
expressing our
"rightness", our
"order", over others
I didn't ask
you don't know my
best path if you don't know
me

a shell of
weathered smile
a giving crinkle
and warm, stable hug -
a now bow
I let go a
fragile free idea
