About Me
Before a word about myself, for legal reasons I must issue the following statement:
*** I retain exclusive rights to all my personal work posted on this page and website bearing the copyright of ' Mark Hampson' and will execute legal action against any and/or all persons reproducing this collection for profit regardless of site rules and agreements. As a writer, I must protect my own interest hence the need for this disclaimer; therefore, my work will be monitored accordingly ***
OK, now that I seem incredibly anal retentive and uncool, a few paragraphs about me personally:
Ultimately it is my desire to change the world, be it through my writing, art and/or craft. I am aware change can only start with the individual and that is something I have managed to accomplish several times in my own life. I believe the society we 'participate' in is incredibly flawed and is breeding too much tension and discontent. Perhaps, it is my own personal ability to rip up my life and start again which makes me believe that the same can happen for society as a whole. I may sound incredibly optimistic, even naive, but I believe that possessing the desire to make a difference in this world at the age of 33 is crucial!
Of course, it is arrogant to presume that people read these whitterings anyway, so in the event someone may actually stumble across these words, I'd like to present a few examples of how I have managed to change my life. I have broken my back, to fully recover. I have succumb to alcoholism to regain sobriety. I left everything I possessed behind in order to start again in a new place and (so far) succeed. The advice I offer people is to believe. Not in religion, but believe in yourself. You can make a difference; you are important; you are always developing so don't stop trying to realize your dreams. Be positive and smile, before you know it those around you will smile back!!
I am just about to begin an English Literature and Creative Writing BA at Aberystwyth. I come from a rural community in North Shropshire. I aim to publish a book that will change the world. If that means I only change the world for me individually, then I would have succeeded in this life.
