About MeOkay, for lack of time, (and most of all for the sake of nostalgia for my angsty and self-absorbed teenage years), I have ripped one of those ancient myspace surveys from the forgotten planes of the internet. I still think they're fun to take, especially to compare how my answers to things have changed, and my views in general. Anyway, Im putting this outdated sillyness here to serve as my temp 'About Me' section. I'm sure I'll be able to whip up something clever and perfect, the ultimate summary of myself as a person in text. But, alas, there's just not the time for it right now...
Here we go! :) Are your parents married or divorced?: Married for over 35 years. Are you a vegetarian?: I'm supposed to be, but after my fiancé spent three months in a grueling job search because his parents' 'family business' didn't live up to its name, (let's just leave it at that.), I couldn't afford the organic veggies and smoothies that I so crave. So, it was a diet of Superdogs and peanut butter sandwiches for us, and still is until things fully stabilize. He's found an incredible new job that blows the old one out of the water, so things should be looking up shortly. Do you believe in Heaven?: I think Heaven is what you make of it. It could happen here in the physical world, right now, or in the astral plane, and everywhere in between and beyond. It's more of a state of mind than a place. For me personally, it's being with the person I love, and in rare moments of peace when life stops stressing you out for a few blissful seconds. Like when we go hiking, or when I'm clacking away at my keyboard happily with no more work to do for the day other than make myself a nice cup of coffee or mint tea. Or when I look at my Great Dane's sweet droopy face and receive a sloppy 'kiss'. :) I do believe in eternity, but nothing as narrow or restricted as most religious takes. Have you ever come close to dying?: A few times. Technically you have to be brought close when under anesthesia, and I've had a surgery before when I was 14. The other time was when I was in elementary school and got choked almost to the point of passing out on a school bus by some mean a*****e boys. Fun times, American schools. What jewelry do you wear 24/7?: My temporary engagement ring, which is a simple surgical steel pentagram ring from Spencer's. My permanent one will be made with a small chunk of meteorite. Diamonds are a meaningless, overpriced cliche with too much pain and suffering attached to serve as a suitable symbol of undying love and commitment for me. Are you eating?: Nope. It's almost 11pm. Do you eat the stems of broccoli: I love the stems. Do some people NOT eat them? Please, let me know. This has me curious. Do you wear makeup?: Rarely, and only if I remember to put it on. Mostly, I just forget and wander nude-faced into the world. Teenage me would be appalled. Would you ever have plastic surgery?: No, but I would jump at the chance for free lipo. What do you wear to bed?: Ya know what? I'm not going to even lie. Nothing. Absolutely zilch. I sleep naked. Know why? Because I hate the feeling of my night clothes tugging and holding me back when I try to roll over in the middle of the night and switch positions. Why bother? It's February, and I still refuse. I'm a staunch nocturnal nudist. Have you ever done anything illegal?: Of course. I've lived my life happily and freely with independent thought and action, and done it in America. Clearly illegal. Can you roll your tongue?: A little, but I am in no way reliable with it. Do You have a boyfriend or girlfriend?: I have a fiance. Do you believe in Abortions?: I do, but on the other hand I also don't believe in women who aren't careful and treat abortions as a sort of casual affair. Abortions are our choice as a woman, and a freedom we deserve to be allowed. But, they are in no way something to be taken lightly. You should hope that it never gets to that point. It's not THAT easy to get pregnant, even though in school they teach us girls to act as though if someone's junk gets anywhere close or even touches us, that BOOM game over, you're knocked up. We've moved away from listening to our bodies as women over the years. Women have been preventing pregnancy for many centuries. You just need to educate young girls and not glorify having a baby as we seem to do so much in this society. It still is a widely accepted mindset that the most worthy thing you can do as a female is to become a mother. It's sad...Motherhood is, of course, a beautiful thing, but we over-sensationalize it to the point of child obsession here in America. Personally, I will never have children. That's my choice, and I would rather not be berated for not going through with a pregnancy (if, knock on wood, all methods of prevention fail) that will ruin my life. It might complete other people's lives, but it would absolutely desecrate mine and all of my dreams and goals. I just wish people would stop trying to control other human beings' choices on what we do in our private lives with our bodies. What is your Hair color?: Ya know, deep down under years of dying and bleaching of all colors, it's actually medium brown. Future child's name, boy and girl?: If I ever decided that it was something that I wanted. (As unlikely as that is.) Then, I know my fiancé wanted a boy to be Dante Alexander Major. As for a girl, I always loved the name Morgan Rose, but I have changed my mind a LOT. It would have to be something original, because I don't see the point in traditional names. You could name your child ANYTHING and people opt for the most unimaginative things. Try and give the kid a little something special. And, as for kids picking on them for having a different name, well, kids are cruel and not altogether brilliant. I'd rather teach my child to ignore such childishness, and view their unique qualities as a way to filter out people who shouldn't be a part of their life anyway. Do you smoke?: Not cigarettes. I like hookah, and other things. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?: I have a long-standing obsession with visiting New York City at least once, as well as France and Japan. I'd also like to go back to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for their amazing hiking trails. The middle east was on the top of my list for my whole childhood, until bullshit made it too dangerous of a venture. Do you sleep with stuffed animals?: I used to. Now, I only break out my oldest stuffed elephant if I'm miserably sick. If you won the lottery, what would you do first?: Gold or Silver?: It depends. My preference is silver, but they're both beautiful. Hamburger or hot dog?: Sushi. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?: SUSHI!!!!!!! City, beach or country?: An old, charming city on the beach that retains its old beauty and architecture while still having all kinds of modern amenities? That's where I live and why I stay :). Where did you eat last?: Here at the computer. Cheese sandwich, how boring...but so good. When's the last time you cried?: Wow. Yesterday? My fiancé and I still fight like anyone. I'm a crybaby. Do you read blogs?: Yes. Especially antique booth tips. I have two clothing and accessory booths in my favorite store on the huge antique store strip around the corner from our house. Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex?: Uhm, well I love guy over-shirts...especially plaid. Comfy. Ever been involved with the police?: I was training to become one when I was a teen, at a program at my local station. But, as nice as they were, I just can't join the gang in blue. I don't believe in half the s**t they'd have me enforcing. What's your favorite shampoo/conditioner and soap?: I love the organix ones that you can find at Wal-Mart, as well as the Not Your Mom's stuff....My favorite scents are Coconut shampoo, or Rosemary and Mint, and one of three conditioners: Sea Mineral Moisture (smells like the ocean and does incredible things for the hair), Mint of any kind, or Suave's Everlasting Sunshine. Anything herby or beachy. And I adore sandalwood. Do you talk in your sleep?: I have. But, not as oddly as my fiance. You can have a whole conversation with him, and boy he says some weird, post-wisdom tooth pulling crap. WOW. Ocean or pool?: Ocean...but I do like that pools have no sharks or unsavory things floating about. What's your favorite song at the moment: Oh, please. Like I have just one. I did discover a cool song called 'Bad Apple.' It seems to be for an anime, but it's not one that I've watched if I'm right. Also, I always love The Birthday Massacre. Hide and Seek was my favorite album of theirs. I also have a habit of blasting smile.dk songs in my car, especially Koko Soko. I don't know why, but those songs always put me in an exceptionally bubbly mood. Those girls are contagious! OOOH also Combichrist. An answer below reminded me to stick them in here. Also, William Control. There's MUCH MUCH more but it would be too long. Also, french opera....I think that's all I need to add. Have you ever had a cavity? I have one now, but I can't afford to go get it looked at right now. It can sit tight. Window seat or aisle seats?: Window. I'd rather see beautiful scenery from above than a bunch of miserable people in coach with me. No one seems to like flying anymore. Ever met anyone famous?: I've met Otep, Jared from Hed PE three times. I've hugged Andy LaPlegua of Combichrist. (he gives such great hugs!!!) Uuuhmmm...I've seen plenty of people live...the only time I've ever broken down and lost my cool was when I saw Prince Poppycock perform in Atlanta. Fabulous man! I couldn't stop crying. Luckily, I was just in the audience, so I could hide my starstruck blubbering. Do you feel that you've had a truly successful life?: When it all boils down to it, then yes. Very much so where it matters. Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?: Twirl, you brutish barbarian! What is your favorite sport to play?: Tennis. Unless DDR counts as a sport. Basketball or football?: Football. I'm not nuts about either, but I just don't care about basketball. Do you drive a stick?: Oh my God. I am the worst at driving stick! My parents tried so hard to teach me...in the end I stalled 4 times before even making it out of my parking spot. I was horrible! Are you self-conscious?: Only a little. About as much as the next person, probably. Have you ever given money to a bum?: Yeah. Have you been in love?: No, I'm that ONE person who's never fallen in love at 22. Come on, now. Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic! Where do you wish you were?: In this same great house, but with free rent and utilities forever!!! Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?: No, and I hope I never need to. Can you tango?: No, but I am a good dancer when I learn. Last gift you received?: My fiancé and I just picked up some chicken that my dad grilled earlier today. He is the grill MASTER! What occasion did you recieve your gift?: He always cooks extra for us when he grills. He's the best dad ever! Last thing you spent lots of money on?: Rent! No, seriously. Frivolously, though? I think it was a Louis Vuitton purse...I'm a glutton for handbags and I used to appreciate their perfect quality before they started to dwindle...even die hard LV lovers have started to notice. They started using plated metal hardware for F's sake!!! And, still charge the same! SHAME! My dream splurge in that area is a lovely vintage quilted Chanel purse. I don't even much care what color. Where do you live?: Pensacola, Florida. It's a cute town, if a little patchy, but that's everywhere these days. Last wedding attended?: My cousin's when I was 18. Favorite restaurant?: Either Paisano's or Chow Tyme. I love me some sushi! What is your favorite kind of car?: I don't have just one, but the newer Mazdas are looking really cool, if we're talking about realistic here. I always wanted to buy a hard top, automatic BMW, but screw those mechanic bills! I'd also love something from the 70s, like a restored VW bus, but GAS. If we're talking about RIDICULOUS price tag, then maybe a nice ferrari. Most hated food(s): I don't like spicy foods...they're just painful! Most loved food(s)?: S...U...S...H...I! Also, I love a nice salad with a whole bunch of things, and zesty italian dressing...yummm. Nectarines too, because they remind me of the beach with my family when I was young. Can you sing?: Yes. It runs in both my adopted family, and my birth family. Person on your mind?: My fiancé, mainly because he just got home and I'm going to glomp him good when I finish this finally. :3 What's your least favorite chore(s): Cleaning up after a 2 year old BABY of a Great Dane. :) I love him so much though, it's worth it. He's practically my furry son, since I've been in his life since he was 2 weeks old. He's my baby. Favorite drink?: Coke...but I can't have it much because it's godawful for you, so second would be ice water. No calories (Ice water BURNS them), no guilt, and it is so refreshing! How long was your longest drive in a car?: Oh...I don't know. I went with my parents on a 10 day trip to the diamond mine in Arkansas, and a stop in Vicksburg, Mississippi on the way. We had to break it up a bit but that was a LOT of driving. Especially with the camper in tow. Comments
