I'm an Economics major that likes to write. I was told by one professor that majoring in Economics was a waste of a creative mind. However, I'm also good at math and research and I can't just ignore that side of me, so I write for fun. My stories kind of go where they want to go. I feel more like I'm reporting what's going on in my head more than I'm deciding where the plot will go. I've written for my college newspaper for a semester and my opinion columns covered the same topics that I'll write about here: Science, Errors of Conventional Wisdom, People's Psychological Shortcomings, Skepticism, Politics, Economics, and Libertarianism. I try to make my writing funny and as inoffensive as possible so that even those that disagree with me will enjoy reading what my stories and essays have to say. I find that my misanthropy manifests itself in my writing though sometimes, but I've written a poem about it (Misanthropy: Justified) to try to get it out of my system. Richard Longbow is just my online pseudonym, by the way.
