About MeMy name is Jen and like everyone here, I write because I cannot help myself. I don't have a fixed genre but I enjoy exploring the world of fiction and characters that come to life within the folds of a well written story. I also love coffee and British period piece dramas - my one weakness.
I recently finished a paranormal, young adult romance set in late 19th century London and am currently shopping it around to agents. Anything Victorian or Edwardian has always fascinated me. Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell and the many modern screenplay writers who've come up with fantastic mini series such as Larkrise to Candleford, Berkely Square, Upstairs, Downstairs (to name a few) are near and very dear to my heart. Julian Fellows is fantastic. However, with Tamora Pierce being my favorite author as a child, I also have a love of fantasy which led me to Robert Jordan, George R.R Martin and the like. If asked, I doubt I have a favorite of anything, but stories with strong female protagonists are near and dear to my heart. With that said, I am not adverse to trying a man's perspective. If I ever wanted to test myself, I'd write sci-fi...maybe one day I shall. Comments
