Poetry can not be subjected to any single definition. We know, of course, there are numerous definitions from poets whom we're following their foot print, one being: "The spontenous out flow of powerful feeling: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility." - William Wordsworth.

I think I have my own definition.
"Poetry is the gathering of words that blow trumpet; words that seek its 'agirima' from the heroic trends, bridle the mind, with vast question of human existance."
