About Me

Well, I have been writing for a few years, random things here and there. I feel that it is important to jot down your thoughts no matter what anyone thinks, they are YOUR thoughts. Remember to keep it real.

Hey, thanks for the review. Nothing here for me to read? No worries. As for the Morrison issue... I'm a huge fan of the Doors, and I wouldn't have ever gotten into writing poetry if it hadn't been for Jim. I have a hard time reading him now... there's something about those poems that seem to have a lot of flash and glitter, but ramble so much and change scenes so often that they really seem to lack overall substance. I spent a lot of years trying to be Jim... now I'm ready to try and be myself.

You're right, too, that we can never really know the mind of the writer, but that's the point... poetry needs to transcend that, give the reader a new perspective and take on life.

Before you get all down on Clayton, take into account that all people have different opinions on different writers. Morrison tends to be a polarizing figure, as well. People seem to either love him or hate him, that's just the way it goes. Clayton is not a fan, but he's able to back it up with specific critique, which he and I have discussed in depth over the last couple of months.

Damn, I love talking poetry. When you put some stuff up, please let me know and I'll come read your work. You may also want to try reading, "'I Hate Myself and Want to Die' Was a Nirvana Song." I'd be interested to hear your take on that one.

Oh, wow.
Welcome to writerscafe. You will find it delightful and liberating.
Starting off on the right track, I see...
I love how you got that biased guy's "review" and simply obliterated it (with class)!
*Grrowwl*
Opinions are one thing, but he was completely out of line when he said that Morrison's writing had "no meaning". BAH!
I'm still fumed and shocked by that crappy review; I mean, it didn't have anything to do with Jr's poem at all! And you can SO tell that the guy was bias; he called Jim a "punk kid"! With that being said, there's no way he's going to like Jim's poetry!
BIASED! *grrowwl* lol

::sigh::
I'm cooled down now.
::smiles::
... I am totally looking forward to reading and reviewing your genius on here.
Speak your mind, William... I will absorb it. Let others feel your truth as well. :)

You are a great person... And a true friend,
Amy Lou
