About Me

Hi. My name’s Kate, and I’m an actress, writer, five-foot tall avid tea drinker, with Scottish/Irish blood and an extreme love for Sci-Fi.

Some people say that life is like a journey, but I find that incredibly clichéd. Not that I don’t love a good cliché, I mean, let’s face it, as a romantic novelist I kind of have to. But I prefer to think of the world as an awe-inspiring, completely mysterious, unknown wonder, where nothing you ever do or say will turn out the same way each time. I like to think of each new day as an adventure, completely new than the one before. I like to stand on a beach as the sun goes down, and think about what it would be like to get a boat and sail out, heading to nowhere in particular except for the faint horizon line I see. I’m a traveller, an adventurer, and a liver – embracing life to the best of my abilities and grabbing onto it with both hands. They’ll have to fight to take it away from me.

So I prefer to think of life as a story. Every story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. But what makes each story so unique, so wonderful, are the chapters in between. They are what really make the book, and turn it from a spine and some pages into something incredible, something worth reading. Something worth paying attention too.

So if, by chance, you happen to have read this to the end, and you’re going to take anything from it, I’d ask you to remember this:

When a book is published – once it’s out there – you can’t take it back. You can’t stop it from travelling the world, or being read by anyone and everyone who wishes to do so.

So make sure your chapters are the ones you’d want the world to see.

The sky’s your limit. Nobody should be able to tell you what you can or can’t achieve, who you can or can’t be. Only you can decide, and only God can stop you, and there’s no way He’d want to stop you being the very best you can be.

So dream hard. Reach high.

Be a liver.
