I write fiction in part for fun but mostly to preserve my sanity. Usually I think I'm succeeding in the fun part. All genres strike me as equally worthy of having fun with except for serious literary fiction, which is the most fun.
Our host says the best way to start is by posting stuff, so I'm going to put up some of the stories written during the pandemic. Without covid, I would have written fiction but not these particular stories. You start a novel assuming you will live to finish it. The carpe diem outlook calls for short stories and poetry.
I was first stricken by the writing bug in 5th grade and have never recovered in the least. Medication, a good therapist or incarceration might help, but I prefer to consider my case incurable (as is probably yours as well).
