Hey all.

Like a lot of you, I'm an aspiring writer. Since i was 15 i've been working on my book, 'Through the Portal', a mash up of science fiction and fantasy set in a parallel universe. I self-published in 2012, however re-reading my book I decided it was terrible and should be burnt in a fire. so I'm rewriting it.
My stories are meaningful to me, as I don't believe in doing something this important, if i don't treat it as such. I try to fill them with as much humor as possible, realistic and interesting characters, and stories that are genuinely new. Any feedback would be hugely appreciated, whether constructive or not.
