About Me

Described by some as an alien disguised as a beautiful earthling woman, inner peace in human form, and a tiny ball of fire, Gatlianne knew at a young age that she was different from her peers. Growing up in the rural south didnt quash her longing to go against the grain, though she was at peace with the serene country life.

Born in 1978, books became her best friends early on and her days and nights were spent reading and writing stories and poetry, often while sitting alone by the branch that ran behind her house. Afforded her independence, solitude and creativity by her mother, Gatlianne chose to make her own path instead of letting others make it for her and didnt mind that she most often stood outside the norm.

Gatlianne still resides in the south in a small house full of books and serenity. She indulges in simplicity and the constant pursuit of knowledge and learning. She surrounds herself with the ones she loves and with those whom she knows can help her make a difference in the world.

Gatlianne has published four books of poetry:

You the Gasoline & I the Flame 2006
Freedome is a Feather: Words for Change 2007
Private 2008
Sky 2010

Loved the poem about the blue haired ladies. Just came by to see your profile and realized. I know where Decatur is. . . went through there on my way to a little town called Sulligent a few years ago. The highlight of the trip was driving through Winston County and visiting Jerry Brown's pottery. Hope you have a great day!
