About Me
Polonius: What do you read, my lord? Hamlet: Words, words, words. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ I became attached to words the first time I encountered the four March sisters, about the age of six. Jo March and the pianist Beth shaped my world. I wanted to be an artist. I had already been dancing since the age of three, and had begun playing the piano; words now entered my world. Storytelling in all its forms enraptured me. I preoccupied myself with toy figures, creating tale, after tale, after tale. The Brontes were next introduced to me; my family visited Haworth when I was nine. Even then I felt some kind of allegiance with those children and the environment out the back of their parsonage. The Yorkshire moors have contributed in many ways to my writing. Shortly afterwards I made my first trip to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford to watch A Midsummer Night's Dream. Shakespeare was yet another writer who captured my heart and imagination. I ate Shakespeare up. Hamlet became my favourite play from the first time I saw it. From then on I wrapped myself up in classic literature and began writing more and more stories, even venturing to try poetry now and again. Now I am student of English Literature at university. I love my subject passionately. I have less time to write than I would like, but I still try my best to fit it in. I'm working on a novel which I began just under two years ago. I tend to write random bits of things which will hopefully be used someday. I still dance, and also choreograph and teach a bit; I'm hoping to train as a dance teacher once my first degree is finished. I still play the piano. I enjoy scrapbooking, writing letters, music, films, and tennis, and I'm interested in politics and mythology. I also love Spain! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Things/people which/who fascinate me: - Anne Bronte - antique books - Anthony Trollope - ballet - bears - Beethoven - Branwell Bronte - Brokeback Mountain - the Bronte Parsonage - Charles Dickens - Charlotte Bronte - Claude Monet - Coldplay - dolphins - Edgar Degas - elephants - Emily Jane Bronte - Ernesto 'Che' Guevara - Federico Garcia Lorca - F.
