About Me
For someone relatively keen on writing, I always struggle with these sections. So let me try third person limited, mystery thriller-
"The rain hammered down on the street, merging steel and bitumen like so many clichéd action movies. The concrete and brick boats floated upon this sea of tarmac and slab calmly, braving the unrelenting storm like it happened everyday. I sat in my mess of a study listening to the muffled ticking of water against glass trying to figure out what to put in the 'About Me' section of my profile. What could I say? I wasn't a writer, I was a laboratory technician for a commercial microbiology lab. I cut up rotting meat for a living, and no, that wasn't a metaphor. At the end of the day I come home, try to ignore that I still smell of my work, stare at my computer screen for an hour or so, and try and filter out the ideas. I always said I don't suffer from writer's block, but rather writer's diarrhoea, a flood of ideas and most of 'em are crap. But this time, I couldn't think. So I settled for a paragraph of third person limited narrative. I tried to emulate a mystery thriller, but it didn't seem to work. Perhaps the genre wasn't for me."
