I am a doctoral student in clinical psychology and an aspiring sci fi/fantasy writer. So far I have published one short story professionally, and plan to independently publish a four book novel series, the first of which is titled The Drifter and the Dragon. I have also written and posted material under the pseudonym EnemyWithin (including the aforementioned novel). I am serious about pursuing a career as a professional writer and welcome all constructive feedback.

My current major project is The Drifter and the Dragon, a novel that I plan to publish within the next few months. I have previously posted in on NovelJoy.com where it was well received, but the website doesn't seem to be functioning anymore. Here is a more detailed summary, since there is a word limit in the description area:

On a distant world in a vast, crumbling city, a young street urchin named Theodore Matthias struggles to save the enigmatic Amelia from an ominous entity beneath the ground called Paradox. But all is not as it seems, and the two of them will have to confront their nemesis and the connection that they all share. On Earth, twelve-year-old Salvador Selerani must build a new home for himself in a small New England town after his parents are brutally murdered. Alienated by most of his peers at school, he befriends siblings Sandra and Jack Thomas, and begins training with a local martial arts instructor and his daughter Mariko.

But the sinister forces in Sal's life have other plans for him, and he must come to terms with his own bizarre link to Paradox and Theodore Matthias. As events begin to escalate Sal is caught between a cult led by a deluded madman, a psychopathic dragon from another universe, and a secretive, mystical organization known as Starcross. Sal must confront not only his enemies but also the darkness within himself to save those he cares for, even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice.
