Preston Maddox

I've always enjoying reading and writing. Unfortunately, during my many years of drug and alcohol abuse, I didn't have much time for either. Now that I'm sober, the passion to write is burning like never before. I never considered myself a fan of poetry because I never read any and only wrote to get things off my chest. It was recently brought to my attention however, that if I enjoy writing poetry, I'm probably a fan of it as well. I have never shared any of my poetry with anyone. Ever. So this is huge for me. By joining this site, I hope to get a better understanding of poetry and get some honest feedback on my own.

I'm not as dark as my poetry may suggest. It's just that's the only s**t that motivates me to write. I can appreciate a beautiful sunset, spending time with loved ones or squirels frolicing in the grass.
