About Me
Hello! Well, I've found that I'm relatively new to writing my own fiction; apparently all the other teenage writers got a huge head start on me. I mostly sing and act; I love performing Shakespeare particularly, I love the musicality of his text. I'm generally inspired by my father; he was an artist during the Jesus Movement, an alternate version of the 60's in which people got high off of God instead of drugs or something, I still don't completely get what happened. But he's a poet, a song-writer, has some albums, and has some published books. I'm hugely proud of him; I basically want to do the sorts of things he did. Besides my dad, inspirations include Martin Millar, this awesome writer from Scotland who has this amazing, sparse writing style that comes across more naturally to me than many other writers; David Tennant, also from Scotland, best known as Doctor Who, whose face is stretchier than Gumby and has my respect for starting out as a classical actor, going mainstream, and coming all the way back, very cool; Francesca Lia Block, for keeping the balance between teenage emotional goo and truly artsy fantasy; lastly Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett, who I tend to consider as one person, because they created Good Omens, which saved me in the middle of a crisis of faith (both are great writers by themselves and I love them separately, but they go together).
