Desert Dreamer

I joined Writers Cafe to inspire and be inspired, I hope you are looking for the same. I always review other peoples writing in return for a review (sometimes I am slow) and I look forward to any conversations inspired by our writing. If you don't plan on interacting or reading any of my work, please don't ask to by my friend.

I love nature, writing, reading, observing, thinking, music, dreaming, wandering and wondering...and I love the Sonoran Desert, this is the home of my soul.

Most of my poems are dream and nature inspired. Other poems are written out of sudden inspirations, if I believed in god I would call them visions.

I am also inspired by subjects concerning social justice and global environment, seems to me that this culture is slowly killing the planet...

I am working on unlearning what I learned in school.

I'm looking for new ways to live that are in balance with the community of life around me. I garden, grow some of my own food, and support local farmers. There is so much learn about the natural world around us so I listen and observe, sometimes the earth speaks in wondrous ways. There is true magic out there, not the kind you read about in fairy tales and fantasy novels, but a real magic you can participate in, be part of. I am always looking for new teachers in my fellow living beings. I like to discover native plants that can be used as food, re-discovering the knowledge of our ancestors. Life is an adventure.

Note: I have turned off my read requests. That thing got way out of hand, I was up to 1000 or more, I couldn't keep up, has been causing me great stress to even try. I am going back to a system of reading in return for a read.
