About Me

"Dee was born in Mexico City on the 2nd of July. In 2003, after closing circles in Mexico, she packed two cases and moved into London where she has close relatives and ties. Six months later she moved to the English countryside, and found a job teaching and supervising the academic development of two children. Recently, she obtained a Diploma of Freelance Feature Writing at The London School of Journalism in Maida Vale. She's currently studying a BA in Journalism and Media at the Buckinghamshire and Chilterns University College. She also has studies of Public Service Interpreting and Translating (College of North West London) and has experience as a Senior PA in Mexico City.

She's also become an active social girl in South Buckinghamshire where she lives, and is been known by her quirky sense of fashion and her latin sense of humour. It's quite common to find her wandering around the exclusive boutiques or having long reading sessions at the local Starbucks. She has an immaculate taste in clothes, shoes, books and food and loves to have dinners out in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Also loves the odd Cosmopolitan or the odd Martini while reading her book of choice.

As an enthusiastic reader of The Guardian, The Independent and magazines such as Vanity Fair, I-D and POP, she's struggling hard to be the next 'it' feature writing journalist, starting to put up some words in local newspapers and bulletins.

"A magical place, some music and my solitude - that's all I need to produce a nice piece..." She recently said while relaxing in Sicily, where she goes to find some peace as one of her closest friends owns a beautiful hotel. "Sicily will always be magical and it will remain in my heart forever, I always find inspiration by the Med sea with the fresh Sicilian lemon scent hypnotising me every morning..."."

Thanks for your message. You will find many of the writers on the Cafe will give encouragement and the Union of Writers was started only this week with the intention of giving new and little-known writers the chance to be recognised. The official 'Most Popular Writers' list always contains the names of those who have been on the Cafe for a long time and who have a lot of exposure so it was intended that the Union of Writers would be included in that list every day (if possible) to give the others a chance. Below is the link.

You're more than welcome Dee, your article definately has merit, it wouldn't hurt to submit it to a women's magazine or a newspaper!

Welcome to the Cafe, Dee. The Soho in NYC is pretty cool too.
