I was born in Springfield Oregon...but grew up in the Southern regions of the country. At age 15 I entered into a world of prostitution and heroin addiction that nearly claimed my life. Through it all the one constant in my life was my ability to transform my thoughts and emotions onto paper in the form of essay or poetry...a gift handed down to me by my maternal gram-momz (a published author) and from my paternal granny (a Cherokee Indian Story Teller) In 2001, shortly after the 9/11 incident I made a conscious choice to "live" I entered into a methadone treatment program where I remain clean and sober to this day. I am a survivor of many things and this theme prevalent throughout much of my work. I also have a serious passion for HipHop/Rapp music and the social/political platform embedded in its early roots. I have studied the Japanese Geisha Arts, mostly Temae (Way of Tea) or Japanese Tea Ceremony. It is my strong desire to one day reside in New York City as an established Author/Free-lance Writer. I have always been a big city girl at heart and have a profound love for all things Urban...hence the title of my book. I believe in God and have a strong faith and love for Jesus Christ...however... I do not subscribe to organized religion nor would I classify myself as an overly zealous religious person. As a Bi-Sexual woman I believe in equal rights for all and do not support oppression of the people in any form. I have often been described as being a bit eccentric and perhaps a lil' odd...I embrace this definition to its fullest for I believe with abandon that it is our crazy quirks and musings that make us lovable, give us character...and steer us towards a destination of our dreams...♥ DannyLynne
