About Me

Danielle Searby is a poet/author from Adelaide, South Australia. While she tries to spend as much time as humanely possible in reality she finds much of it depressing and seldom holding her interest. Taking inspiration from this she tends to prefer daydreaming and walking in circles, sometimes at the same time. She has welcomed her fiancé' Mark and their son. Henry into these perfectly constructed daydreams along with a cat called Raven and a goldfish, Oscar.

Danielle Searby has been writing for many years but it's only been in the last few months that she has sought publication. She has had her poetry published in a number of literary journals including Ophelia Street, Opium Poetry and Synchronized Chaos. Her short stories are also starting to be submitting to journals with positive feedback and publication in Babel's Gate magazine. She hopes to extend this further and share her work with more people.

All finite things reveal infinitude:
The mountain with its singular bright shade
Like the blue shine on freshly frozen snow,
The after-light upon ice-burdened pines;
Odor of basswood upon a mountain slope,
A scene beloved of bees;
Silence of water above a sunken tree:
The pure serene of memory of one man,--
A ripple widening from a single stone
Winding around the waters of the world.

- Theodore Roethke
