Found and Lost Again

So for now I'm new here. My name is Daniel and I'm in love with poetry. My main platform is slam where I try to create a rhythm of my own that has a lot of punch to it. I've always loved the way that spoken word poetry can mirror the intensity of the emotions it's revealing and so my main goal is to honor that. I also have a penchant for words on a page though and my work in there tends to have a little more of a subdued tone as well as beong more experimental since that's where most of my ideas start. Lastly, I'll very rarely write some weird short stories that deal with some of the darker sides of mental health. That pretty much covers the types of writing I take to. As far as why I write.. I've dealt with a lot of fucked up s**t that spawns from my own mind. Bipolar, a lot of anxiety, existential dread, my troubles find me often and writing is my way of dealing with that, sometimes it's also my way of sharing it. I like to get lost every now and then. Maybe I get antsy or maybe part of me knows that I'm better off surprised. Sometimes I feel like I should learn to love the mundane moments of my life as I move towards a settled career in teaching.
