Kierkagaard believes that art/beauty will only take a person so far. That it's too fleeting and temporal, and that it "unsettles" the psyche way too much. That a person will forever ride a rollercoster of agony and ecstasy, which will no doubt tax the person until s/he craves for something more eternal. Naturally, NOTHING is eternal with out god, according to him.
But which god? He can't answer that. And back we go...
