About Me
I am a 33-year-old Language Arts teacher and single mom. My daugther and I share a lot of our time together writing short stories, fan fiction, poetry, songs and journaling just for the genuine pleasure of writing. I'm working on several novels at the moment and finishing none. They are densely-woven, action packed, fantasy-thrillers/mystical realism/romance stories with, unfortunately, very static or otherwise uninteresting main characters. My best works to date are my Buffy fanfictions, Wishes and Regrets, which have won awards and which I enjoyed writing immensely!
I graduated from Texas State University, back when it was still Southwest Texas. I worked for many years in newspapers, which was like being in love with a dinosaur. I have a dozen poems published in anonymous little magazines, and one short story that earned an honorable mention in the Austin Chronicle Short Story Contest. In 1998. Ten years ago.
Now I teach and read and play at writing with my daughter who is brilliant and inspiring. And we'll continue to write as long as kittens purr and bees make honey. Hopefully, that's a long, long time.
