About Me

I am an Artist/ pastry Chef. Spanish is my native language. English suits me well. Since I was five anyway. I write in both. I am like a ghost between two worlds niether of which I truly call my own. Poetry is my air and I am a gray whale, each breath is fuel to seek the deepest depths of thought and feeling - yada yada yada.

Really though - I started writing when I was sixteen. I wanted to emulate those amazing poets I was being exposed to. The first poem that knocked me on my a*s was Tennyson's

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crookd hands;

Close to the sun in lonely lands,

Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;

He watches from his mountain walls,

And like a thunderbolt he falls.

that was it - I wanted to write like this. So to that end here I am...

thank you so much for your reviews today. You are always so thorough and thoughtful. I understood what you meant about the ending of Spring Break and about foreshadowing for Hungry Hearse and you are right on both counts. I hope you are doing well and had a great weekend. I'm looking forward to talking with you again soon.

I just read your "Sestina..." I just have to tell you how it sustained me as I read, for not 5 minutes earlier I had just posted a piece on fleeting autumn, ( called 'change in the weather', please check it out ) which overall is a bit pessimistic and meloncholy, I admit. I just found it interesting how complimentary the themes were in both poems posted so close to one another - I will always view yours as literary salve, a reminder to see beauty rise from the ashes, and to embrace change as it comes. I am reeling in mystification over here...

Marco, I owe you so many reviews now....you have truly spoiled me!
I thank you for your encouragement and am really thrilled you enjoyed the poem. :o) to be reviewed by a starving man...wow, either you grabbed some cheetoes or I'm important!

it was hot and sticky here and I just finished eating brats on the grill with roasted potatoes and grilled onions...tummy full. I tried to watch TV but got bored out of my mind! Now, the laundry is drying and I feel about as exciting as as a cheeto stuck in the couch cushion, getting all moldy and forgotten.
