About MeDiffident, Scott began--Diffident, Scott began--Diffident, Scott began--Diffident, Scott began--Diffident, Scott began--Diffident, Scott began
That's about the best introduction you're going to get with my diffidence. Today I have decided to begin my delinquent matriculation into the world of social networking and this seemed like a participatory place to begin. I am hoping to get involved in this independent authors movement that seems ripe right now as I try to finish my first novel. I have been studying literary theory (classicism, historicism, objectivism, the function of the author, etc.) on my own and my areas of most interest are the works of Kafka and Cervantes, although I can't help but appreciate Pynchon and Barth. I'm not a fan of postmodernism or metafiction, don't let my parodical prefatorial deceive you, I'm more of a fan of this great age of hysterical realism. I aim to make something that can accurately represent our every day and personal experience, as well as put it into the context of our culture and place in time. |
