I read short stories. I write, or try to write short stories, really short ones, when I get the urge. All the fiction I have written and submitted has been rejected by editors. Still I am obsessed with the short story writing process. Hemingway, or his writing philosophy of using as few words as possible is the ultimate style for me. Wordiness is the norm, I believe, in western societies. Its a gimmick to impress. We have a pathological need to impress. I am obsessed with how affected western society is. I have made some progress in writing. It continues to help me identify lingering western affectations which have infected me. Even if I don't ever get published I like hunting affectations.
