Thanx for the review of Spectral Exile -- that story is based in part on the Excaliber Nightclub. That nightclub is haunted. It placed fifth on Spinetinglers.co.uk, but it seems to get a better reception here. The people who blasted on that story hated old fashioned horror.

One thing about Spectral Exile, it will blur the lines between fiction and nonfiction. I took apart how materialistic it is and basically exposed that it left behind many of the literary roots in the subculture. The influences that I have with that one is this, the story rooted in Richard Matheson's style of horror writing. Read up on some of his so you can get a feel for that one. Horror forged from Illinois is some of the most brutal you'll find, and you can talk to Gary Hill on this one because he wrote a Mythos non-fiction book point the music roots from the writer H.P. Lovecraft. I got stories longer than that one out there right now and got one published with Naked Snake Press. The cover for it is up here.
I was published originally on The House of Pain so what I did was bring that influence in the sense of the gore, but giving a neotraditional horror voice to it. This is something I am very much rooted in when doing old school horror -- you will find no sex in any of my fiction but this one goes double duty on the macabre content.

Just expressing appreciation for you ...a) taking the time to read my story and ..b) offering up criticism which was a little hard to take, but which was honest and will definately help me improve it. I needed those words more than I needed my ego stroked :-)
