About Me
*sigh* Where should I begin...
I mostly write Poetry, though for the moment I am working on a fantasy epic which I hope to get published by next year.
But back to Poetry:
I became fascinated through Poetry in my senior year of high school, when I decided to take it as an honors class. I fell in love with Poetry from then on. I had the most marvelous teacher, Ms. Casey, who was probably the nicest person I've ever met. She taught each and every one of us how to perform our works in front of an audience, different writing styles, poem structural forms, analyzing Poetry, etc. She touched me in such a way that I dedicated a poem to her at the end of the year, called 'The Teacher'. I later gave her a framed copy that she could hang on the wall.
When I present Poetry, I don't simply read it - I perform it. The Poet must dance with his/her piece and become one with it. In this respect I am much like a slam Poet than a page Poet, even though I don't often write slams. But in a way, I am different than a slam Poet because I also like to present the works of others, particularly the pieces of the Romantic Poets.
Mostly, I write non-traditional sonnet-form poems, though I sometimes write free-style pieces.
I have to say though, I'm not a fan of writing villanelles, because they seem a bit to repetitive, and rarely sestinas for the same reason. Sestinas are quite difficult to write unless you base the poem from a narrative perspective. I won't even bother with "true" sestinas. Those are extremely difficult to write because of how constricting the structural form is.
I am a Druid Apprentice (officially a Druid in mid-August) following the Henge of Keltria, and I am a Pan-flutist.
