About MeI'm an American student in Germany. Ever since I was 14, it was always my dream to be what I am now. And you have no f*****g idea what I had to do, how many people I had to piss off, and how much I had to believe in myself--when nobody else would--to get here.
My current main work is of now a story of how that happened, but of course, names have been changed. It's a really amazing story, all true, and I hope to share it with the world. My first and current posting is just a small snapshot (but probably not the best reflection of my work to be honest!) of a 50+ page work I have in progress and fully intend on publishing in the future. I hope you enjoy it regardless. I study neuroscience and have been writing for as long as I can remember. I learned to read/write the English language by somebody pinching me everytime I mispronounced a word since I learned to read "late", and that's really all I'd like to share as to how I feel about my childhood and how it was possible that I scored high enough on the SAT and college enterance tests as to make it possible for me to start university at age 16, and in turn, escape my parents. I learned to read/write the German language from some of the most influential, old, and beautiful people in my life--some of which were like surrogate parents--and from new friends, from a book I could not put down, and from the boy I feel deeply in love with, from Friedrich Nietzsche, and also from the man I wasted a year on. Other than that, I also have been the editor of a opinion for a university newspaper, a columnist, reporter and copy editor. I have won awards for random short stories when I had time to write them, and honestly, I only write because I love it. I write everything from lab reports to short stories to haikus to translations. Writing is truly the only release that sets me free. But now I am already starting a new life. I have so much to make up for in this new, beautiful fairy-tale land, which comes with it's own challanges and difficulties, its own language and people. I am starting everything over at 19--and I want to share this journey, this real modern fairy tale, with you and the world! Thanks and God bless. |
