About Me
I was born in upstate New York in the fall of 1950...in time to be a part of the "Baby Boomers"...and to be a part of the "Hippie Revolution". It was an exciting time to grow up.
I married young, and, of course, it didn't work out terribly well. We both had different expectations, I suppose...anyway, we parted ways four years and two babies later...which is a nice way of saying that I took my kids and left town, and never saw him again.
Since then, my wanderings have taken me all over these United States. I eventually met and married another man, and had more children. He was taken from us by a drunk driver, leaving me with seven kids to raise pretty much alone.
Yeah, that wasn't a typo...there were seven of them. No, I'm not a Catholic, yes, we used birth control, but for some reason, it never worked on me. In fact, my baby was born AFTER I'd "had my tubes tied"...but that's a whole other story.
Sooo, now that my kids are grown, I have time to do something I have dreamed of doing my entire life...I have time to devote to my writing.
One other essential fact to know about me as a writer...I am a Christian. Now, that's a term that gets thrown around quite a bit these days, and nobody is really sure exactly what it means when someone says he or she is a Christian.
For me, however, it means what it meant 2,000 years ago. I am not a member of any denomination, I am not an avid church-goer (although I do occasionally go to meet and greet other believers), and I don't go door to door trying to change people's minds about what they believe. I am simply a follower of the Man, Jesus Christ...nothing more, and nothing less.
Another writer on this site has called me "The Christian Poet of the Writer's Cafe", a title I am genuinely proud to own.
I feel "called" to write as I do, it is a part of who I am.
