About Me

Hello all . . . I was born two months before the assassination of President JF Kennedy (11/22/1963). Thus, as many who were around at that time, I know where I was, too. I was in a cradle beside the television. It was Phoenix, AZ and my mother had just given birth to me on September 28, 1963. As she mourned the announcement of the death of JFK, she cried. She looked over at me, a quiet, and usually content child and she saw tears streaming down the my face.

My writing talents began showing at a very young age . . . approximately at age 5. Since I had began reading Dr. Suess books, by myself, at age 2; it seemed appropriate I'd start writing.

My favorite television series was "Lassie" and would foretell of my love of dogs. My family, Mom, Dad, my younger cousin (we began raising him when he was 8-months-old in 1965) and myself. We lived out in the middle of the Arizona desert (Cave Creek) on a hill. We had a porch with a roof . . . and when my cousins visited, I made up episodes of "Lassie" for us to act out. My mother says there were original episodes and not from the actual series!

All I recall is that my mutt dog wouldn't do as 'Lassie' did and "go get help" . . . yet, if I lay down on the porch, he would run over and lick me! Thus, I was the director, star and writer!

I am published in a few places on-line and you can read my short story in the book, "More Random Acts of Kindness" by Conari Press, page 110-112.

You can also read articles on various websites . . . I will post them here as soon as I have the exact web addresses.

Every part of this earth is sacred.
Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore,
every mist in the dark woods,
every clearing and humming insect is holy.

The rocky crest, the meadow,
the beasts and all the people,
all belong to the same family.

Teach your children that the earth is our mother.
Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth.
We are part of the earth, and the earth is a part of us.
The rivers are our brothers; they quench our thirst.
The perfumed flowers are our sisters.
The air is precious, for all of us share the same breath.

The wind that gave our grandparents breath also receives their last sigh.
The wind gave our children the spirit of life.
This we know, the earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the earth.

This we know, all things are connected.
Like the blood which unites one family, all things are connected.
Our God is the same God, whose compassion is equal for all.
For we did not weave the web of life.
We are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
Let us give thanks for the web and the circle that connects us.
Thanks be to god, the God of all.
