About MeHi, I'm Amira!
My interests include: intersectional feminism, current politics, identity, culture, the urban and philosophy. I like to play with form and a lot of my poetry is influenced by spoken word and other urban conventions. A lot of my writing is focused on my everyday experiences, so the content is personal in essence and the vocabulary mirrors everyday speech and thought patterns. I don't really like to contain/constrict my writing by following rigid poetic forms, rather I am experimental in my approach drawing influence from the underground music scene that I grew up around and intertwining it with beatnik and modernist poetic theory. I look forward to reading your poetry and hearing your feed back about my own! |
